The color is what you see first, and it is more saturated than a pavé charm usually manages: magenta and orange across the top, green and blue below, with the polished cross cutting a bright line through the middle. Then you notice it does not slide. It clips shut on the chain and holds, which changes how the rest of a bracelet sits. The plain half is a surprise if you expect stones all the way around.

Two Hinged Halves, One Fixed Position
The Rainbow Cross Charm is a clip rather than a bead: two hinged halves that close around a snake chain and stay where you put them. The face carries a raised polished cross with pavé cubic zirconia set in bands of magenta, orange, yellow, green and blue around it, all inside a milgrain edge. The two halves hinge on one side and meet at a visible seam on the other. It measures 0.44 in (11 mm) across the face and 0.28 in (7 mm) along the chain, with a 0.14 in (3.5 mm) channel through the middle. Sterling silver throughout.
A clip does a job no sliding charm can. It divides the bracelet, so the charms on either side stay in the section you gave them instead of collecting at the lowest point of the wrist. It also fills space cheaply on a bracelet that is only part full. The limit is mechanical. A clip holds by tension, and tension is finite: open it in the same spot every day and it will eventually grip less than it did, at which point it starts creeping along the snake chain. Open it with a fingernail at the seam rather than levering the two halves apart.
Where to put it if you only own one
- Next to the clasp, where it stops everything else drifting toward the underside of the wrist over a day.
- On either side of a single favorite charm, if you own two, to hold it centered on the top of the arm.
- At the halfway point of a half-full bracelet, which makes the gaps look deliberate rather than unfinished.
- Directly opposite the clasp, so the stones sit on the top of the wrist while the clasp sits underneath.
The stones read as color before they read as sparkle. Round cut cubic zirconia in six shades gives a piece that shows from a few feet, where a clear pavé charm needs light to do anything at all. That comes with a caveat. Colored stones photograph brighter than they wear, and indoor light flattens the yellows and oranges more than the blues. Set it against plain high-polish sterling rather than more color, and it carries the whole bracelet on its own. Nothing else on the bracelet needs to compete with it.

Only one side has stones. Will the plain half show?
Yes, at times. The bracelet itself rotates on the wrist, and when it does the plain half comes up. Charms with stones on one side only all behave this way. Clipping it opposite the clasp keeps it facing up for most of the day.
Does it fit bracelets that are not snake chain?
No. The channel is 0.14 in (3.5 mm) and it is shaped to grip a round snake chain. On a flat chain, a bangle or a cord it will either not close or not hold, and forcing it is what bends the hinge.
Are the colored stones real gemstones?
They are cubic zirconia, not sapphires or tourmaline. That is why a charm this size can carry this many colored stones at this price. Cubic zirconia is hard enough for daily wear but will scratch dull over years of contact with keys and countertops.
Will the clip loosen over time?
It can, and that is normal for any clip. The tension comes from the two halves closing on the chain, so repeated opening slowly relaxes it. If it starts sliding, a jeweler can tighten the halves in minutes rather than replacing the charm.
